The Business Incubation Centre (BIC) at Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) had the privilege of hosting the esteemed team from Ayesha Saleem Welfare Trust, led by the honorable Mr. Nadeem Saleem, Founder of the Trust.
This visit marked a significant milestone in fostering collaborations between academia and the social entrepreneurial ecosystem, paving the way for joint initiatives aimed at sustainable development and community empowerment.
The delegation was warmly received by Director BIC, Engr. Dr. Sohaib Manzoor, along with Manager of Marketing and Communication, Mr. Arsalan Ijaz, Business Development Officer, Mr. Nasir Mehmood, and HR/Finance Officer, Mr. Zahid Mahmood.
In his welcome address, Engr. Dr. Sohaib Manzoor provided an overview of MUST and the vision of BIC. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ayesha Saleem Welfare Trust for their visit, emphasizing the vital role of such partnerships in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship.
Following the introduction, the visiting team toured the Business Incubation Centre and engaged with resident startups, including Green Harbor, Cyber Champs, RapidNet Connect, Islamic Dynamic Studio, MUST Genomic Services, CDOT, Steam Educators, and Habitat Solutions. The Trust team gained valuable insights into the work and impact of each startup and commended the efforts of MUST and BIC in fostering innovation for a better and sustainable future.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the main campus of MUST, where they explored the first
National Centre of Robotics and Automation (NCRA) Lab in AJK. Prof. Dr. Faisal Riaz, Director ORIC, provided a briefing on the autonomous vehicle project underway at the lab.
The team also visited Islamic Dynamic Studio, where they were welcomed by Dr. Sajjad Ahmad CEO Islamic Dynamic Studio, Dr. Asghar Ali Khan Director Institute of Islamic Studies. Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean of the Faculty of Arts lauded BICโs initiatives and expressed strong support for its future endeavors in his concluding remarks. He further emphasized that a pragmatic and visionary approach is critical for institutional progressโan approach clearly embodied by BIC.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Smart Classroom, where the delegation witnessed first-hand the advanced digital learning facilities available to MUST studentsโa testament to the universityโs commitment to education in the information age.
